Cocoa Lounge Mission Statement

Cocoa Lounge was founded by a Black Woman (Shawna Jacobs) with a vision of creating an online Black Community where Blacks from all over the world could come together and discuss our particular social issues, politics, history, spirituality (not necessarily religion) and any other pertinent topics (i.e. conspiracies, etc.) .

We provide many other sections that aren’t nearly so deep or serious and some are downright outrageous. Yeah, we try to keep it real up in here and you might find yourself confessing your sex life or asking for advice or reading some great poetry or laughing at some funny post.

As much as we enjoy the member contributing to all sections of the forum, we ask that members not concentrate on these forums to the detriment of our more conscious and political sections.

Ultimately, we want to effect changes for Blacks everywhere.

This board WAS NOT intended to be a celebrity site and people who only care about celebrities bring down the value of the board and run off the type of Blacks who want to work towards change.

It’s not a dating site. It’s not a sports site. It’s not a hip hop site. It’s not a religious site. We strive to be a Progressive Black site that is broad enough to have all types of departments.

Those are intended for people who spend their time caring about the Black struggle. We have a very low opinion of Blacks who do not actively participate in the struggle and they will be asked to leave.

Also, “board whores” & “quota queens” – people who just post so they have the highest number of posts – will be asked to leave. If all you ever have to say is “lol” or a smiley, you aren’t contributing and you are taking up valuable space here.

There are many sites for these people to be on; this board was not built for the idle of mind.

We welcome any wise, intelligent, educated, motivated, progressive, talented, beautiful Black people to join us here.
