If you're pregnant, don't go to Brazil, and a few other latin countries

Zika Virus...which is spread by mosquitoes has hit epidemic proportions.
This virus has negative effects on the brain of the fetus. Shrinkage of the brain and hampers mental development.

In December 2015, the Pan American Health Organization/World Health Organization noted that transmission of Zika virus infection had occurred within 9 countries: Brazil, Chile (specifically Easter Island), Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Paraguay, Suriname, and Venezuela. The organizations made recommendations for surveillance, case management, and prevention.

In December 2015, the first confirmed Zika virus case occurred in Puerto Rico. Besides cases in returning travelers, no other locally transmitted Zika cases have been reported from elsewhere in the United States, as of this date.
