Faith to Faith, Glory to Glory

Romans 1:17 The Righteousness Of God [unveiled] From Faith To Faith: As It Is Written, The Just Shall Live By Faith.

Note that the righteousness of God is unveiled. The veil is the flesh. God's righteousness is a free gift that is only available through the blood of Christ. It is part of grace. Righteousness is by grace through faith. We have access into this grace by faith. Here, in this verse, we see that we go from faith to ever greater faith.

Don't try to rationalize your own faith or hypnotize yourself into believing. Faith comes from Jesus. He is the author and the finisher of our faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing comes from a word (utterance) of God. When we read or hear the Bible, we need to let God speak to us and not to rationalize the meaning of the Bible. When we see creation, we need to hear God's voice. The Bible says that God speaks through creation. We need to see Christ in our brother and sister in Christ. We need to discern the body of Christ and hear when God is using a brother or sister as His mouth piece. We need to hear God's voice in a still small voice.

Righteousness exercises our heavenly vision and improves it. Righteousness always starts with God--we can't initiate it. God leads. He speaks in many ways, especially through the members of Christ the Body, through ministries. (1 Cor. 12:3) Here is the process: 1. Faith comes by hearing the word (literally, utterance) of God. (Ro. 10:17) 2. Hearing requires humility and reverence, which is the beginning of wisdom. (Pr. 9:10) 3. Faith gives access to God's grace (Ro. 5:2) including the free gift of righteousness. (Ro. 5:17, Ro. 10:3, Isa. 45:8, Heb. 12:28) 4. Grace does the work of God in us. (1 Cor. 15:10)

These four steps take only a moment and continue moment by moment perpetually. This is God's process for righteousness in thought, word, and deed, bringing us from glory to glory. Of course, we can slow, stop, or reverse our progress by ignoring, adding to, or taking from God's leading or by trying to self-generate works. Anything that is not of faith is sin. (Ro. 14:23) Righteousness is love. (Ro. 5:5, Ro. 13:8-10, Gal. 5:13-14, James 2:8) Righteousness always leads toward the establishment of God's pattern.

When we hear His voice, we look into the perfect law of liberty. We see ourselves, the ministry, Christ in us, as opposed to the fleshly man of sin, and we see ourselves in the context of Christ the Body, every order, ministry, and office. When we respond to the leading of God by allowing Him to do His work through us, we respond to the perfect law of liberty. (James 1:22-25)

This transfigures us. God's righteousness brings holiness and redemption. (Ro. 6:19, 1 Cor. 1:30, 2 Cor. 3:18) When we discern Christ, we see Him as He is and become like Him. (1 John 3:2, James 1:22-25, 1 Cor. 13:9-12) While righteousness is in the moment, holiness is a transfiguration of what you are, a change in your mind. When we turn to Jesus instead of our own understanding, God plants His holy seed and the fruit of the Spirit springs up. We reap what we sow. (Hos. 8:7, Gal. 6:7-9) Holiness is Christ (your ministry) formed in you. (Gal. 4:19) It is progressive from glory to glory and from faith to faith. Holiness brings redemption. Redemption is freedom from sin's bondage.

THEME: “FAITH – VISION – FOCUS”
TEXT: HEBREWS 11:01 – 10; GENESIS 12:01 - 04
TOPIC: “HOW TO GET TO THE NEXT LEVEL” PART 1

Introduction:

One of the most frustrating and confusing things we encounter in our earthly journey is those times when we seem to be moving…without making progress. You understand, those times in your life when you have motion but no momentum to propel you forward, to cause you to advance and move to the next level of the abundant life that God has for you.

The Bible although not directly but certainly indirectly indicates that God’s desire for His Kingdom People is for us to be growing, advancing, moving from one level of grace to the next level of grace; from one level of victory to the next level of victory and from one level of abundant living to the next level of abundant living. There is nothing static, stale or stationary about our God and thus there should be nothing static, stale or stationary about your Christian journey. We are to grow from glory to glory and from faith to faith.

However many believers and certainly all unbelievers are frustrated to some degree or another by the fact that as they look back over their lives as we enter the 21st century, they realize that they have made very little, if any progress. You may have been busy but made no progress. You may have been moving but there has been not advancement. You have given effort but there has been no improvement. You have been diligent but there is still no development.

.....So what does it take to get to the next level? How can I…how you advance, go forward, improve, grow, and experience an entirely new level of miracles, signs, and wonders. How can we march toward our ultimate goal and achieve victory over nagging sins and see our families and loved ones win in life – over the challenges, trials and tribulations of this old world? What is it that you need to know, do or be – in order to get to the next level on your job; at school; in the church or in your relationships with others?

1. Where are you?
2. What is the next level for my life?
3. How do I get there?
a) Faith
b) Vision
c) Focus
