The biggest problem in the black community

In the last 20 years what would you say is the biggest problem in the black community as a whole?I know it's a difficult question because there is so much negativity that gets upon us as a people, but if you had to choose ONE single, solitary issue, what would it be and why?The answers should be interesting.

The first to come to mind is the lack of UNITY. We are definatley divided as people.

So quick to tear each other down instead of bringing eachother up. We should respect eachother's differences, even if you don't agree with a person's lifestyle or opinions, at the end of the day, we are all battling the same struggles.

If we put personal problems aside, we can come together and see the bigger issue of things.

Last 20 years...decline of emplyment opportunities paying wages that would enable a family to be supported.

There is no way to support a family on minimum wages these days. Jobs in factories are getting more & more scarce. Not everybody can afford college nor is everybody suited to those types of endeavors.

lack of action

many people like to talk about the problem and why there is a problem but when it comes time to create and initiate solutions they are nowhere to be found and want to criticize people who are coming up with the solution

attention whorism

some people feel like the attention has to be on them or else they dont want to participate; if they cant get attention by doing something they want no part of it

sheep mentality

people following the leader just because

If you cant be a Good Example, then youll just have to be a Horrible Warning

There is no cohesive "black community" in America, just folks that look the same. Think about it we share no culture overall, the only language we can claim is Ebonics and that is basically seen as ridiculous to many black people. We have become divided by allegiances to religion, money, fame, etc etc etc. The problem with the community is that there is no community just black people.

When you kick a man when he is down - do you realize that you are kicking yourself? Give him another kick - if you deserve it!

Governmental and educational systems that condition and marginalize Blacks to be dependant rather than self sufficient.

Personally I would have to say this disharmony and destruction of the black family. It has become commonplace that it's OK for men to not accept their responsibility in participating in the lives of their children so long as they send a child support check(which many don't do anyway). It's also equally as bad that young women are having 4,5, and 6 children and leaving them for the grandmother's to raise(but that's another issue). That in itself is an epidemic. The results are children with a lack of self esteem,a lack of guidance,a lack of respect for any thing or anyone.Children need direction, parental direction, and without it they often become uncontrollable. The conspiracy to destroy black boys is alive and well, and the sad thing is we as black men are often doing the most damage by not doing anything at all.
How many black men's lives would have been dramatically different if they had the proper influnce of a father ( or father figure) in their lives? Not just picking them up for a weekend once a month(when you know it's supposed to be every weekend). Not just taking them out to get the latest Jordans, but showing up at their schools, taking and intrest in what they want to do and who they want to be.So instead of little boys growing up saying that they want to be"just like dad" they're saying "my daddy ain't shiet",which is a phrase that is offered to children far too much, due to the fact that it lowers the value of the child's life as a whole. How many times has a child heard"your daddy ain't shiet and you ain't gone be shiet".Then we are left to wonder why the 50 Cent's of the world are raising our children, feeding them that fake azzed glorious "street hustla" lifestyle. But kids gotta eat something .......right?Much respect to those who are taking responsibility for their seeds, and for the punk azz joker's who don't,you should get your man card revoked and get sent back to the kiddie table.
