Should cops have killed the Lowland gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo when kid fell into his pen?

Police will investigate the circumstances and events that led the Cincinnati Zoo to kill a gorilla on Saturday after a 4-year-old boy tumbled into its pen. The zoo has defended its decision to shoot the 17-year-old lowland gorilla known as Harambe after he dragged the boy aggressively through shallow water. The zoo has also said that the safety measures in place around the enclosure exceeded required standards. The boy's parents have also been slammed for what is perceived as negligence. Once the police complete their inquiry, "they will confer with our offices on possible criminal charges," Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph Deters said.

All over social media people are saying they should not have killed the gorilla. I say (for once!) it was a justifiable shooting.

Of course. A human being is precious and worth more, no matter how cuddly the creature.
